It has long been believed that foods that are fried, chocolate or soda cause acne. Well, this great debate is over because it has been shown that these items have no scientific root linking them to acne.
There is no scientific evidence that shows that foods such as pizza, French fries or soda cause acne. Acne is caused by a biomechanism that causes your sebaceous glands to produce too much oil. These oils are much different than those that are used in cooking food. This myth has been around for so long because people simply believe that it is true. They cease eating foods and their skin clears up, but this can be due to a variety of other physical effects. Some people have noticed these changes and a doctor will simply tell you that if you think that is the cause then stop eating those foods. They are not going to tell you that chocolate and Dr Pepper cause acne.
It is, however, very important that you do eat healthy. There are numerous nutrition related issues that may be caused when you don’t eat a healthy diet. What you eat will not directly affect your skin, but it can cause a variety of other health problems that are much more serious than acne, such as heart disease. A balanced diet will also leave you feeling better all around. You will have more energy, slow down the effects of aging and make a healthier environment for your skin.
On the other hand there are diets and fasts that have been created that will help you get rid of your acne by cleaning out your body. Do you know what is already in your body, what kind of deposits that are in your liver, stomach and intestines? If you do eat a lot of chocolate, pop, fried food and other things then these food will leave deposits in your system that will cause your acne to flare up later.

Acne is a very difficult issue to handle when you absolutely know nothing on how to cure your acne. Read this article now to find out how you can cure your acne by carrying these four simple steps routine to zero acne in just weeks, not months or years. Most people take years to get rid of acne completely, but you are going to be able to achieve this by following this acne combating routine everyday.
Step 1 – Taking care of your skin’s surface to get rid of acne
To treat acne, first we need to concentrate on what we already have on the skin surface. Acne, zits and also tons of acne causing bacterias are present on your skin’s surface. To tackle this problem, firstly you should adopt a good face washing technique. You should use a proper skin cleanser according to your skin type. That means no “for oily skin only” cleanser if you have dry skin and vice versa. Also, a big myth of treating acne is that you should wash your face a dozen of times to get rid of acne totally and quickly. This is absolutely wrong. If you have acne, don’t wash your face more than three times a day.
After you wash your face, you should apply some tea tree oil on your skin so that those bacterias that reside on your skin can be killed and disposed. Tea tree oil is cheap and effective too.
Step 2 – Change your diet.
By changing your diet towards a better one, you can also cure your acne faster too. When you eat healthily, there is no reason for your body immune system and hormone system not to work properly. When you maintain a healthy diet regularly, your immune system and hormone system are both improved, making it harder for acne to develop. This deals with the major internal factors that cause acne.
Step 3 – Detoxification.
Detoxification is simply great for your acne. Some good tips for detoxification include:
1. Drink more water everyday. It flushes those toxins out of your body.
2. Eat more vegetables and fruits everyday. The vitamins and minerals in them are very important in order to improve immune system, regulate hormone secretion and ultimately treat and prevent acne effectively.
3. Fasting.
By following these tips, you are already on the fast track to zero acne. Be persistent and the results will come in no time at all.

Click here to learn my secrets and learn HOW YOU can also treat your acne in less than two months without spending any money on any expensive products and antibiotics.
Ooh, did I mention that the acne condition I was having was among the most severe my dermatologist, father, mother, school teachers, the clerk in the office, and many other people had ever seen? I had hundreds of acne on my face until I learned the secrets to treat acne
You can access to the secrets I have learned, just by visiting my site on acne its causes and how you can treat it. It contains some of the best information on acne so you have no reason not to check it out.
For years, scientists, doctors, biologists, dermatologists, and dieticians have searched for and studied all of the various causes of acne. Since the majority of the worlds population suffer from acne at some point in their lives, there is no surprise that such efforts are invested in finding out how to it. While there have been some definitive answers on whether acne is hormonally induced (yes), and what can be done to prevent it (prescription drugs, certain herbal remedies, etc), there are still many unknown factors that cause acne.
However, of all the many acne questions that science is yet to find answers to, the most controversial is whether or not diet has an effect on acne.
Historically, diet was thought to be linked to acne. Doctors and housewives alike believed that a high fat content in ones diet would cause an oilier complexion, and this in turn would create acne breakouts.
However, as time went on, science found no directly link between a diet high in lipids (fat), and acne. Since acne is caused by a bacterial growth in sebum trapped in clogged pores, there is no such thing as “extra oil secretion”. So, for at least the last 15 years, western medicine has claimed there is no connection between diet and acne.
However, a study conducted in 1997 has rekindled the flame in the “diet causes acne” argument, and this time, with a bit more heat.
This study, conducted by Dr. Lit Hung Leung, states that Acne breakouts are because the body cannot create enough of Coenzyme A to break down the fatty acids that create sebum. The reason is, Coenzyme A is probably the single most needed enzyme in the body. This Coenzyme-A is what synthesizes sex hormones, and what breaks down fatty acids.
The only part of Coenzyme-A that the body does not produce itself is vitamin B5. So, if there is a shortage of B5, there is a shortage of Coenzyme-A. And if there is a shortage of Coenzyme-A, the body will use it to synthesize sex hormones, not break down fatty acids.
So, you can see where this is going…more fatty acids, more sebum production, more acne.
Now, the interesting thing is that Dr. Lit Hung Leung substantiated this claim by testing it on 100 people. The group took 10 grams or more per day of pantothenic acid ( B5 ), and used a B5 topical cream of 20% by weight. After 2-3, sebum production was reduced, and many people with acne noticed a reduction. For those with more extreme acne, a higher dosage of B5 was used (approx. 15-20 grams per day), and treatment was prolonged to see an effect, sometimes up to 6 months.
So, while one study does not definitively prove whether B5 can prevent or reduce acne, it may well be worth considering, particularly for those who want a natural or herbal cure for acne, and do not want to use chemicals such as benzoyl peroxide, or other prescription acne treatments.
As with any medical treatment, it is best to consult a doctor before trying a B5 regimine.

Acne is an eruptive skin disease that is prevalent among young people especially teenagers. It also occurs in people of different ages and races.
Acne is an embarrassing skin disease. It can show prominently on the neck, face and back. This is caused by a disorder of the sebaceous follicles of the skin. When the follicles secrete its sebum, the skin can accumulate dust and dirt and lesions start forming. Acne is most often associated with blackheads and whiteheads.
Although can easily be acquired, it can also be easily prevented. Below are some of the ways to prevent acne.
Developing good hygiene is still the best way to prevent acne. For teenagers and young people entering puberty where acne vulnerability is very high, dermatologists recommend washing the face at least twice a day – in the morning and in the evening before going to bed. The use of astringent to remove excess oils is recommended by many dermatologists but choosing the correct kind of astringent should be observed. Water based products for facial cleaning is good and less harmful if ever.
Teenagers are encouraged to sport a short hairstyle because during this period, the hair can be greasy due to hormonal changes in the body. For the adults in general and ladies in particular, thoroughly removing the make up before going to bed is extremely useful as make ups clog the skin’s pores and encourage microbes and other bacteria to accumulate. Wearing clean clothes and regularly changing curtains and pillow cases that accumulate dust helps prevent acne by minimizing bacteria in the air that may land on the skin.
Good diet and proper nutrition is another important factor in preventing acne. Eating lots of fruits and vegetables and drinking at least eight glasses of water a day helps the body create a balance to the hormonal changes that cause acne. Exercise helps blood circulation and eliminates toxins in the body.
Putting on the proper sun protection when going out greatly reduces the stress on the skin that could lead to acne. When possible, alcohol-based lotion and creams should be completely avoided.
When a few pimples start showing, it is bad to squeeze them because this could lead to infection and further inflammation. Infected substances could spread on the face and further create more spots.
In poor countries, there are many myths on the proper prevention of acne. One of these is using a certain brain of laundry soap. Another is rubbing dark sand on the face. This should not be practiced because they lead to even worse conditions.
Having a regular check up with a dermatologist is a good investment. The skin is the largest organ in the human body. Aside from that, it is also the most exposed. Everyday our skin is attached both from the inside through our diets and the outside through the air and the chemicals we use like make up and creams. Having a dermatologist advise us on proper skin care will make us save in the long run because medication for skin problems can be costly.

Are hormones the real cause of acne? Or this a myth? Find out the truth in this article…
Common causes of acne are excess sebum, bacteria on the skin, and hormones that are out of balance. But which is the real cause of acne? The truth is that all three are part of the development of acne but only one is at the root of the problem – acne hormones.
The sequence of the causes and effects of acne goes like this: “inflammatory hormones” are produced from external factors like food and stress. These inflammatory hormones cause negative effects in the body and lead to “cellular inflammation”.
Cellular inflammation builds up and if genetically predisposed, can cause the inflammation of the hair follicle and sebum glands. This results in excess sebum production. The bacteria on the skin which everyone has mixes with the excess sebum, and an explosion of inflammation results. This is called acne.
So internally, acne starts off as hormonal inflammation. One type of acne hormone is called prostaglandin series 2, and is produced as a reaction to “inflammatory foods” like fats and oils. The reason this hormone doesn’t cause acne in everyone is that not everyone is predisposed to getting acne from inflammation. Some people put on weight or get some other body effect.
In order to successfully treat acne reducing the amount of acne hormones like prostaglandin series 2 is necessary, as it stops the sequence of biological events that happen inside your body that lead to acne breakouts.

As a self confessed chocoholic, when I first started getting acne the most important question to me was “Does chocolate cause acne?”
There are conflicting opinions about eating chocolate and whether it does or doesn’t cause acne. It’s a common question that I’m sure many acne sufferers would like to know so here’s some details about the effects of eating chocolate and how certain chocolate may actual contribute towards clearing your skin.
Chocolate in general will not be the sole cause of your acne but the sugar and chemicals in it could contribute to acne if you consume too much. It’s the same for any other foods in your diet if you eat far too much unhealthy food it will affect your body which can in turn affect your acne.
The cocoa in chocolate is actually great for your skin because it contains antioxidants among other beneficial ingredients. If you like drinking chocolate I’d opt for organic cocoa which has less sugar. Also look for cold compressed cocoa in particular because this has more of the good stuff like vitamins and minerals.
The best type of chocolate bar for your skin is dark chocolate as it contains more cocoa. Although the cocoa in chocolate can help your skin it’s not a miracle cure. It’s one of those little steps you can do as part of an overall acne treatment plan.
You know better than anyone if certain foods cause breakouts more than others. Trying to avoid consuming chocolate that is high in sugar and opting for an organic dark variety so that you don’t need to feel guilty when you indulge in your chocolate addiction. If you like milk chocolate then there’s no harm in alternating between the two kinds – it’s just dark chocolate is better for you.

Acne is a skin condition which has plugged pores (blackheads and whiteheads), inflamed pimples (pustules), and deeper lumps (nodules). Acne occurs on the face, as well as the neck, chest, back, shoulders, and upper arms. Although most teenagers get some form of acne, adults in their 20’s, 30’s, 40’s, or even older, can develop acne. Often, acne clears up after several years, even without treatment. Acne can be disfiguring and upsetting to the patient. Untreated acne can leave permanent scars; these may be treated by your dermatologist in the future. To avoid acne scarring, treating acne is important.
No one knows exactly what causes acne. Hormone changes, such as those during the teenage years and pregnancy, probably play a role. There are many myths about what causes acne. Chocolate and greasy foods are often blamed, but there is little evidence that foods have much effect on acne in most people. Another common myth is that dirty skin causes acne; however, blackheads and pimples are not caused by dirt. Stress doesn’t cause acne, but stress can make it worse.
Home Remedies for Acne
Apply equal amount of lemon juice and rose water with a cotton ball, leave for half an hour and wash. Repeat for 15-20 days.
Mix lemon juice with rose water. One lemon with same proportion of rose water will do. Apply it on your face and rinse it only after 30 mins. Constantly doing so will not only get rid of acne and pimples, but it also has the effect of lightening the skin blemishes.
Mix 1 tablespoon of sour cream ( 0% fat for oily face), 1 tablespoon of yogurt, 1 tablespoon of grind oatmeal and 3-4 drops of lemon juice. Apply on face, leave for 10 minutes and wash off.
Use a mask base powder, such as fuller’s earth or kaolin powder. Use distilled or filtered water to make a paste. Mix 1 heaped teaspoon of base powder to 3 drops of essential oil. Add approximately 2 tablespoons of the water in, to make a fluid yet balanced paste.
Cleaning your face by washing it in warm salty water will leave it oil-free without aggravating the acne. Cotton dipped in rose water maybe used for cleaning the skin and to remove the makeup, especially the oil-based one, since it’s responsible for acne outbreaks.
Zinc may also interfere with the absorption of magnesium and iron from food and supplements. It can interfere with the absorption of tetracycline and fluoroquinolone antibiotics and penicillamine. There is also some concern that a particular diuretic, amiloride, can reduce zinc excretion and lead to a toxic build-up in the body.
Try not to touch your face. It causes trauma to acne, just like picking pimples does. Tight sweatbands and chin straps from baseball caps and sports equipment can have the same effect.
Apply lime juice and rose water on the acne affected area and leave it for 30 minutes. Wash your face profusely with lukewarm water to get perfect cure for acne.
Make a paste of 3 tablespoons of honey and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder. Apply it on the pimples before sleeping and wash it next morning with warm water. Repeat for two weeks for permanently clearing acne.
Tomato can also be used for the treatment of blackheads and to open the pores of the skin. Cut the tomato and rub it on the skin. Leave on for fifteen minutes. Wash it off with water. This will reduce open pores and blackheads. This treatment is good particularly for oily skin.
